Compassion

“A moment of self-compassion can change your entire day. A string of such moments can change the course of your life.”

Chris Germer

Compassion for self and others was at the heart of my training with the mindfulness association and is woven into the way I work and teach.  Many of us are very hard on ourselves and extremely self-critical. Compassion practices can help us develop a kinder way of relating to ourselves and others.  Mindfulness and compassion are often described as the two wings of a bird, and, both personally and professionally, I have found compassion-based mindfulness (including self-compassion) to be a game changer. My Msc research focussed on this and is entitled “Self-compassion: a tool for personal and professional transformation”.
