Where mindfulness and nature connect.
Forest Bathing (also known as Shinrin yoku) is a simple yet powerful nature experience which originated in Japan in the 1980’s as an effective wellbeing technique for managing stress and other health related issues.
Forest bathing is not like a hike or a naturalist trail. It involves bathing the senses in nature. Focusing on what you can naturally hear, smell, touch, taste and see has an extremely calming and soothing effect on the body and the mind. Recent research on forest bathing has shown that the phytoncides (substance emitted by plants and trees), significantly reduce inflammation and stress in the body.
